Pilgrimage tourism

St. Joseph The Worker Parish Church has been a witness to various significant events in the city’s history and continues to be a symbol of the community’s faith. The Tanglawan Festival, the biggest festival in the city, was offered to St. Joseph the Worker whom the name of the city was derived.

The City of San Jose del Monte takes pride in its various religious sites that entice a substantial number of locals and Christians, who come to visit them during the Holy Week. The City Tourism Office promotes the Visita Iglesia tradition, which involves visiting seven churches, and has transformed it into a tourism circuit during Holy Week.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto Shrine, a replica of the Sanctuary in France, and Padre Pio Mountain of Healing, featuring a large statue of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, are among the top pilgrimage sites visited in the city.
