The City of San Jose del Monte is the home of Guinness World Record’s Largest Lantern Parade and Most Number of Living Figures in a Nativity Scene. The city celebrates the Tanglawan Festival on September 1-10 of every year as the official festival of the Cityhood Anniversary per Republic Act No. 9750, also known as the Tanglawan Act. The festival and its weeklong festivity continuous to empower the tourism industry in the city.

From the word “Ilaw” or light, the Tanglawan Festival symbolizes the light that will guide the San Joseños to a more sustainable city. The festival aims to promote San Jose del Monte as “The Rising City” with the potential of becoming the Premiere City of Bulacan. Tanglawan Festival boasted not only the city’s colorful culture and tradition, but also the exceptional traits of its locals.
